Handmade
Custom Quilts and Pillows
This
past month MQBM has been
wrapping up some really wonderful custom quilts and pillows and
preparing for the busy holiday season. That's right folks, holiday
quilts and pillow making is in full swing. This newsletter will
illustrate the many beautiful quilts and pillows that where made
this month.
Currently I have 16 quilts on my schedule, seven are for the
holiday. If you are interested in a Memory Quilt for the holidays,
or for any occasion, NOW is the time to order! Once
mid-November comes I will no longer be able to guarantee holiday
delivery.

Block
Style Quilts
This is the third quilt that I have made for this
family. The first two were given last Christmas to the grand
daughters and were appreciated so much. This final quilt was
made for the son. Each one honors a very special woman who sadly is
no longer with us. This style is perfect when there aren't any t-shirts
but there are a lot of cotton dresses, dress shirts and such. Each
quilt was backed with super soft flannel to make them extra cozy.

Seton
Hall University!
This
beautiful modern style lap quilt is filled with Seton Hall shirts!
I just love the colors in this one.

A Staggered style small lap quilt is shown here. It was made
in honor of a loving husband and father taken from us far too soon.
It may not be large in size but it is large in style!
It was backed with a beautiful cotton print to finished the quilt
off perfectly. Memorial Quilts, like this one, are always very
important to MQBM because they help grieving friends through
difficult times. They really bring comfort and closure to all in
need.

Pillow
Perfection!
Another
very large pillow order completed! Shown here are 12 patchwork
pillows with custom embroidery on each one. "Forever in our
Hearts" was embroidered on each pillow making them truly one
of a kind.

Karate
Belt Pillows!
Have
become super popular! Shown here are 2 16" pillows that
contain many karate belts. These pillows were backed with a
super soft fleece. This is a perfect way to re-purpose the many
karate belts collected over the years.

Appliqued
Logos
Small logos from the front of the jerseys and shirts can be added
to the quilt through applique. Varsity letters can be added
too! This adds to the quilt.

The
Swirl Stitch!
The long
arm quilting stitch selected for the quilt really adds to the
beauty of the quilt! This stitch takes longer but the results are
wonderful!

the Line Thread
Shown here is the meander stitch. This up close picture of a block
shows the gorgeous variegated thread that is used in my quilts.

Long
Arm Quilting and Custom Applique
The above
pictures shows the expert long arm quilting and applique methods
used in MQBM quilts. Also shown is the beautiful variegated thread
that my quilts contain. It really catches your eye because of
the long arm quilting. Long Arm quilting is a must for these
quilts! Not only does the stitching look spectacular, the stitching
stabilizes the quilt and turns a blanket into a quilt! Beware, many
t-shirt quilters do not offer this.
