Happy St. Patrick's Day from
|
|
Top o' the Morning to You!
I
hope this St. Patrick's Day brings you lots of luck, a cold Guinness,
and a warm quilt with plenty of nostalgia wrapped in it! Below are some
projects that have kept me busy. I am truly thankful for the many orders
that have come my way. It is indeed gratifying to see the finished
quilts and my happy customers. Is there a Memory Quilt in your future?

100 Good Wishes Quilt
To welcome and celebrate a new life, there is a tradition in the northern part of China to make a Bai Jia Bei, or 100 Good Wishes Quilt.
It is a custom to invite friends and family to contribute a patch of
cloth with a wish for the baby. These patches are made into a quilt that
contains the luck, energy, and good wishes from all the families and
friends who contributed a piece of fabric.
Many adopted children in the USA are proud recipients of these quilts. As you can see by the picture, Grace is very happy too!

Memorial Quilt
This quilt was made in honor of
Daniel. Daniel passed away last year at the age of 44. His grieving
mother asked for this quilt to be made. I am sure it will become a
living memory that will give her years of comfort.
Big Dan
loved Pepsi. There are 12 Pepsi shirts in this quilt. Daniel's mom can't
wait to wrap herself in the memory of her loving son. This quilt was
made in the traditional style with the Pepsi colors used for the
sashing. Rest in peace, Daniel. Price: $320.00

So for the greener good, think about recycling those old t-shirts or baby items that you simply cannot throw away. Turn them into a beautiful quilt filled with sweet memories!
