Aloha
Friends!
Hawaiian
Quilt
This past
summer has been spent making many unique and meaningful Memory
Quilts! I hope you enjoy the ones highlighted in this newsletter. The Traditional style Full
size Quilt shown below was made with nine XXX large
Hawaiian shirts! I was able to make the 85" by 95" full
size quilt with the shirts provided. The backing selected is a cream
colored cotton that reminds most of the beach! Now we just need to go
to Hawaii!

Fabric
Artist
The
customer that ordered this quilt had this to say about it: "Well
Molly, you are a fabric artist! I just love it and I know my son will
too." I have been called many things, but I kind of like this
title;) Read more testimonials.

Hawaiian
shirts are gorgeous and work beautifully in these quilts! The
variegated cotton backing was selected specifically for this quilt.

Custom
Design
This beautiful block in this Modern
style Lap Quilt was made extra large to accommodate
most of the Eiffel Tower. It is the focal point of the quilt.
Another way MQBM customizes each and every quilt that is made.

MQBM made
this
Traditional style Lap Quilt filled with tennis
shirts.
- These shirts were cut
by the customer (yikes!) As you can see (photos below on the
left) the shirts weren't cut uniformly. I did my best to
cut them properly and create uniform blocks (photo on the
right).
- This quilt was given
to a young lady who turns 40 this month. I bet you she was
surprised to receive a quilt filled with her high school tennis
memories! What a wonderful birthday present, all fixed ;)
Please DO NOT
cut the shirts for ANY
reason. Let MQBM cut all shirts and other garments. It took a
very long time to fix these shirts. I usually don't take these
type of "Oops Quilts" due to the amount of labor involved.
But, summer is a good time to work on quilts like these. Plus, I made
the family very happy ;)

I was asked
to make four Modern
style Lap Quilts for a family grieving the loss of
their husband and father. Shown here are the four quilts.
- one for each of the
three children and one for April, the wife and mother.
- each quilt contains
shirts picked out by the children
- embroidery was added to
personalize each quilt, "Daddy" for the children's
quilts and the nickname " Nacho" that April used
to refer to her husband
- each quilt was backed
with super soft flannel purchased in Lancaster, PA
I have since heard hat the family is cherishing the quilts and that
they are bringing comfort to this family as the grieve. MQBM is
committed to helping people through difficult times. Learn more about

Quilts.
